Have you ever been worried about a friend, student, or colleague who seems to be struggling, but weren't sure how to help? Have you felt uncomfortable starting a conversation about someone's well-being, or uncertain about where to direct them for support?

Caltech Connect is a free, two-hour interactive training offered by Student Wellness Services that helps members of our community recognize signs of emotional distress, approach difficult conversations with greater confidence, and connect people with appropriate resources.

Although Caltech Connect has a particular focus on suicide prevention, the skills taught in the program are applicable to a wide range of situations involving students, colleagues, and friends. More than 1,000 members of the Caltech community have participated in Caltech Connect since its inception, and we hope you'll consider joining them!

We recognize that conversations about mental health and emotional distress can feel difficult or intimidating. Caltech Connect is designed to help you feel more comfortable, confident, and prepared when someone may need support.
