Telehealth

Telehealth services are included with your United Healthcare Student Resources (UHCSR) student health insurance plan and is provided by HealthiestYou.

Visit the HealthiestYou website to learn more and to register. Students can also call the toll free number on the back of their Student Resources ID Card or access their UnitedHealthcare Student Resources (UHCSR) account to learn more.

  • No consultation fee for UHCSR members ($40 consultation fee for non-members)
  • Talk to a board-certified physician when Student Health Services are closed

Save time and money and get the care you need. Telehealth can help diagnose and treat minor ailments such as allergies, pink eye, and earaches, and can send a prescription to your preferred pharmacy if needed.

Urgent Care

Urgent care offers services for medical problems (e.g. minor burns, asthma (which is not responding to medication), urinary tract infection, especially with fever or back pain, possible fracture or dislocation, a cut requiring stitches, any injury with significant pain or fever, etc.), that, while not emergencies, require medication attention within 24 hours.

For those who have Kaiser insurance, there are urgent care facilities in Pasadena and Los Angeles.

You will need to present your insurance card and picture ID at the time of service. Co-pays or deductibles may apply. Check with your insurance carrier to determine whether care will be covered and the terms.

You will be responsible for the charges not covered by your insurance.

Emergency Room and Hospital

Emergency room care offers services for emergency situations that are life-threatening or cause impairment (e.g. difficulty breathing for any reason, severe asthma, severe allergic reaction with throat swelling, unconsciousness or unresponsiveness, major injury with obvious fracture, open chest wound, spinal or neck injury, overdose, etc.).

In the event of a clear threat to life or a serious injury, obtain paramedic/ambulance assistance immediately.

  • Off campus: 911

BE PREPARED to say exactly where you are and what is wrong. You will be taken to the nearest hospital emergency department.

Huntington Memorial Hospital and Methodist Hospital takes all insurances.

Pharmacy and Emergency Contraception

If you visited urgent care or ER and were given a prescription, it may be filled at any pharmacy. Medication should be started as soon as possible.
Do NOT wait for the Student Health Services to open on Monday.
